The Sky Vault ethos
The Sky Vault project will be:
- collaborative

We will have succeeded if the Sky Vault project:
- creates a new perception of the East Midlands
- puts the East Midlands on the world map
- attracts visitors and investors to the region
- creates a landmark that the community identifies with, relates to and is proud of
- is ‘owned’ jointly by those involved in the project, the community and the whole region
- represents a national and international achievement
- is experienced by a wide range of people
- enhances the immediate location and local community
- demonstrates the dynamism of the region
In its design and engineering, the landmark structure will be:
- a dynamic, embracing, involving and entertaining experience
- expressive of the idea of unity in diversity
- high profile, highly visible and highly accessible
- environmentally sustainable and with a minimal environmental footprint
- consistent and responsive to the human scale in its detailed design
